The home of the Maine Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was constructed in 1952. Sitting directly across campus at 375 College Ave.

With our private library and in-house Resident Scholar we have earned a Residential Learning Community designation. As one of only 33 RLC’s nationwide, our Fraternity and Chapter House hold scholarship as one of our top priorities. The library includes two public computers, as well as plenty of quiet space to get work done.

Our dry house has been the home of the current Balanced Man Chapter since 2001. There are three halls (up hall, down hall, out hall) with single rooms for up to a total of 32 Brothers.

The center of our house, both physically and in spirit, is the kitchen and dining room. Our chef prepares two hot meals a day during the week for both in-house and out-of-house Brothers. There are also breakfast items available daily. Monday evenings the entire Brotherhood gathers together here for dinner before our weekly Chapter meetings. The dining room is also the space where guests such as recruits, faculty, and sororities join the brotherhood for meals ranging from casual lunches to our annual Thanksgiving formal dinner. The dining room is also an area where events such as poker nights or brotherhood lock in events take place.

Adjoining the dining room is the Chapter’s ‘game room’. Countless hours have been spent here waging epic games of ping pong, pool, foosball, and Crud – the unofficial house game of SigEp Maine Alpha. Upstairs we have a living room with excessive amounts of seating and a 65" tv. At any given time, Brothers can be found here catching a game or breaking records in the latest video game. The far end of our house is our Brother's room, the location of our weekly meetings and ritual ceremonies.

If you have any more questions about the house, or would just like to see what it’s like feel free to get in touch with a Brother or come knock on the bright red door.
